REIKI
Reiki for Animals and People
Reiki is a gentle Japanese technique that promotes deep relaxation and supports the body’s natural ability to heal by bringing its energy systems into balance. When the body is in balance, a profound sense of well-being is restored—physically, emotionally, and energetically.
At Four Balanced Paws, I practice the Let Animals Lead® method of Reiki, a compassionate, non-invasive approach that honors the animal’s preferences and boundaries. Unlike traditional Western Reiki, this method does not require physical touch, making it ideal for rescued, traumatized, wild, or medically fragile animals.

Benefits of Reiki for Animals:
• Reduces stress and anxiety
• Supports healing and recovery
• Promotes restful sleep
• Assists with behavioral challenges
• Creates calm and emotional balance
• Ideal for animals in hospice or palliative care

I offer Reiki sessions for both animals and their people. In many cases, simply being near their person during a session helps the animal relax and benefit from the shared energy.

Sessions are available in person throughout Upstate South Carolina or distantly—no matter where you are in the world.

Consultations: 30-minute and 1 hour phone or Zoom consultations on holistic and natural pet care. With 20+ years of experience in holistic health, including massage, reiki, herbal remedies, raw feeding, and natural pet care, I tailor recommendations to enhance your dog's well-being. Each consultation includes a detailed written follow-up on your pet's holistic health journey.
If your pet is experiencing any physical or emotional issues please consult with your veterinarian.

Veterinary Consultation: Before starting any form of massage therapy for a dog, it's crucial to consult with a veterinarian. A vet can assess the dog's overall health, identify any underlying issues, and determine whether massage is an appropriate complementary therapy.

Owner Involvement: In some cases, dog owners may be taught basic massage techniques to use at home. This year I will be adding Learn to Massage Your Dog classes. If you are interested please stay in touch.

Massage and more is done in the comfort of your home.

I am not a veterinarian and these services are not a replacement for veterinary care. If your pet is displaying any physical or emotional issues please consult with your vet.

Q: What is Reiki and how can it benefit my pet at Four Balanced Paws?A: Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan. At Four Balanced Paws, I specialize in using Reiki to promote the overall wellness of both pets and their owners. Reiki works by channeling positive energy into the recipient's body to activate the natural healing processes, which can help reduce stress, alleviate pain, and improve overall well-being. For animals, Reiki can be particularly beneficial in addressing issues such as anxiety, injuries, chronic conditions, and behavioral problems. By providing a calming and non-invasive method of healing, Reiki helps pets to relax, stimulates their natural healing abilities, and enhances their quality of life. If you're interested in holistic wellness options for yourself your pet, Reiki sessions at Four Balanced Paws can be an excellent addition to their care regimen.

Massage therapy can help alleviate pain from chronic conditions such as arthritis, support faster recovery from injuries, and improve the immune system by stimulating lymphatic drainage. It All Started With A Dog
Animal Reiki, Canine Massage, Cold Laser Therapy and More

Hi, I’m Suzanne Golden — a Certified Canine Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, and Healing Touch for Animals® Practitioner based in Taylors, South Carolina.
My holistic journey began in 2013 when my beloved dog Walter was diagnosed with prostate cancer. That experience opened the door to natural and alternative approaches to healing, and I’ve been passionate about supporting animals ever since.
With over 14 years of experience as the former owner of a successful dog walking pet sitting company and and 10 years holistic animal practitioner, I bring deep knowledge of canine behavior and care to every session. I’m currently expanding my expertise as an aspiring canine herbalist, integrating nature-based therapies into my practice.
Whether your dog needs help recovering, relaxing, or simply staying balanced, I offer compassionate, customized care to support their wellness—body, mind, and spirit.
