Welcome to Four Balanced Paws

Holistic Wellness for You & Your Pets

At Four Balanced Paws I strive to provide holistic pet care that is tailored to each pet's individual needs.  I am a pet professional offering a wide range of services including reiki for animals and their people, dog massage, cold laser, aroma therapy and more.  My goal is to ensure that your beloved pet is living balanced and healthy life.

REIKI

Reiki is a Japanese relaxation technique that balances the energy systems of the body.  Being in balance creates a sense of well being and allows the body to heal naturally.

I use a system called Let the Animals Lead ® Method of reiki.  Unlike Western Reiki, which uses laying of hands, this method does not require me to touch the animal.  This in turn allows me to work with rescued or traumatized animals, wild animals or animals that are too delicate to touch.

I offer Reiki sessions for animals and people.  I have found that animals receive benefit from just being with their person during a reiki session.  Becoming more relaxed and at ease.

Reiki sessions are available in person in Upstate, SC or distantly anywhere in the world.

Massage & More

Massage & more is a combination of techniques, cold laser/red light therapy, vibrational therapy and essential oils

Canine massage is a therapeutic technique involving the manipulation of a dog's soft tissues, such as muscles and connective tissues, to promote relaxation, reduce muscle tension, and enhance overall well-being.

Cold laser and red light therapy can help with inflammation and reducing pain.

Benefits: Canine massage is believed to offer several benefits for dogs, including improved circulation, reduced muscle stiffness, increased flexibility, pain relief, and stress reduction. It can be particularly beneficial for older dogs, those recovering from injuries, or those with certain health conditions.

Conditions Treated: Canine massage is often used to address issues such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, muscle strains, and other musculoskeletal problems and just help with the aging process.   Massage and cold laser can aide dogs recovering from illness, injury or surgery.   It can also be beneficial for promoting relaxation and reducing anxiety in dogs.

Veterinary Consultation: Before starting any form of massage therapy for a dog, it's crucial to consult with a veterinarian. A vet can assess the dog's overall health, identify any underlying issues, and determine whether massage is an appropriate complementary therapy.

Owner Involvement: In some cases, dog owners may be taught basic massage techniques to use at home.  This year I will be adding Learn to Massage Your Dog classes.  If you are interested please stay in touch.

Suzanne helped my yellow lab with his arthritis and him back to moving and feeling much better.  She comes to the house& has a natural way with dogs.  She has also done reiki with my new rescue and that helped her calm down.

Holly K.

Suzanne helped immensely in the healing process of my dog who was struggling with IVDD.  She did reiki and massage on him and the results were very positive.  She has a gift of connection with the dogs and is able to work along with the dog in healing.

I am so grateful for Suzanne.  She is able to come to the house, which is really helpful since I don't want my Little dog, Toby to move around too much since he may have IVDD.
After his first sessions he was a little better, then after his second session he was a lot better.

It All Started With A Dog

Animal Reiki, Canine Massage, Cold Laser Therapy and More

Dogs love the power of touch

My journey to become a holistic practitioner started in 2013 when my boy Walter was diagnosed with prostate cancer and given six months to live, a diagnosis of traditional medicine. Of course that is  something  no one wants to hear.  With the help of my vet, who was an integrative vet, she was a vet that used traditional Western medicine but who was also open to use Traditional Chinese Medicine, including herbs, acupuncture, massage.  That year I became a Certified Canine Massage Therapist and Healing Touch for Animals Practitioner.  I believe these alternative practices allowed him to be comfortable and thrive over the next 4 years. By releasing muscular tension, supporting his body with herbs and good food, opening the energy pathways his body was able to support itself much longer than anyone thought.

I thank Walter for sending me on this path.
